Bangalore Urban district has seven Assembly constituencies 1,784 polling stations identified in these segments BANGALORE: More than 19 lakh voters figure in the electoral rolls published by the Bangalore Urban district administration on Saturday after completion of the delimitation exercise for the seven Assembly constituencies falling under its limits. People whose names do not appear in the lists can enrol themselves in the special drive to be conducted on March 30, April 5 and 6, in the corporation range offices, taluk and gram panchayat offices. Bangalore South tops the list with the highest number of voters (3.74 lakh). Anekal and Yelahanka have 2.3 lakh voters. The other four constituencies — Byatarayanapura, Yeshwanthpur, Dasarahalli, Mahadevapura — have more than 2.6 lakh voters each, taking the total in all seven Assembly segments to 19,36,595 voters, including 9.06 lakh women. Mahadevapura and Anekal constituencies have been reserved for the Scheduled Castes. Deputy Commissioner M.A. Sadiq told presspersons that the electoral lists had been handed over to political parties for reference. Those without voter identity cards could bring in other forms of identification, such as ration cards and PAN cards at the time of voting. Following delimitation, the number of constituencies has increased from 12 to 28 in the Bangalore metropolitan area. While the Bangalore Urban district has seven Assembly constituencies, the rest fall under the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). The district administration has also identified 1,784 polling stations in the seven constituencies. These include 615 additional polling stations in areas that have more than 1,500 registered voters. Complaint cellA complaint cell has started working at the Deputy Commissioner’s office and those wanting to register complaints can call on 42017240.
