ANANTAPUR: A second year B.Sc. nursing student of the Government Nursing College here, Ch. Lachamma alias Sunita Raju (22), went missing on March 26 night from the residential college housed in the Government Medical College extension buildings near the JNTU College of Engineering here. Parents of the girl, Ch. Shamir and Narsamma of Pulakallu village of C. Belagal mandal in Krunool district, lodged a complaint with the police on Friday. College authorities did not inform the police about the girl missing from the college though they had informed her parents and relatives. According to the college authorities Sunita went out of the college on March 26 evening and did not return to the attached hostel since then. She was found missing when the roll was being called in the hostel around 8 p.m. on March 26. Immediately, the college authorities tried to contact the girl’s parents, but they could not contact them. However, they could inform the girl’s brother-in-law Narasimhulu working as a painter in Dharmavaram. He visited the hostel on March 27 and enquired how she went missing from the college/hostel. On March 27 afternoon the tutors found a letter written by Sunita in the laboratory. In the letter addressed to her parents the girl sought their pardon for leaving the hostel and would meet them if alive someday in life. She said that she was aware how they had struggled to bring her to educate her but was unable to continue her studies as she was not able adjust to the hostel and the college, according to the college authorities.
