Navtej Sarna, envoy to Israel

NEW DELHI: The longest-serving spokesperson of the External Affairs Ministry, Navtej Sarna, will be the new Indian Ambassador to Israel.

An author and columnist, Mr. Sarna will take up the assignment shortly. His appointment comes at a time when both countries enjoy close defence ties but are at variance on the Palestine issue.
