Rs. 3.75 lakh robbed

VIRUDHUNAGAR: An employee of a chilli export firm was allegedly attacked and robbed of Rs.3.75 lakh cash here on Saturday.

Two unidentified motorbike-borne persons followed K. Balasubramanian (45) as he came out after withdrawing the money from a nationalised bank opposite the town police station.

He fell unconscious from the bicycle he was riding after one of them assaulted him with a weapon at the back of his head. Later, they took away the money bag. — Staff Reporter
