Fillip to tourism

It is heartening to note the Board of Intermediate Education is contemplating to introduce few chapters on tourism from the academic year 2008-09 to promote awareness among the students, The Hindu, January 31. Tourism which is recognised as an industry, generates good income, both domestic and foreign and creates employment opportunities for skilled and unskilled workers.Though rich in heritage monuments and scenic spots, the policy makers should explain why Andhra Pradesh is lagging behind other Southern States in tapping the tourism potential. The colleges and universities in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala have introduced travel and tourism as a subject at all levels of education. Hope the State Government emulates our neighbouring states.

Open new post office

The closure of post office at Satyanarayanapet in Guntakal is casing hardship to the public. General public especially the senior citizens are finding it difficult to walk the long distance to get their work done. Even a simple thing like dropping a postcard has turned out to be a costly and annoying task
