Krishnagiri: The district police detained three bootleggers under Goondas Act here on Sunday. The police said Pandian (40) of Poosaripatti, Velan (29) of Bethathalepalli and Settu (38) of Nagarasampatti were involved in distillation and smuggling of illicit arrack. They were recently arrested in Krishnagiri. On instructions from Collector Santhosh Babu, the three were detained and lodged in the Salem Central Prison.
