‘Courts being opened in all taluks to decentralise administration’ CHIKMAGALUR: K.L. Manjunath, judge of the Karnataka High Court, has observed that quick disposal of cases will increase the faith of a client in his lawyer. Inaugurating the silver jubilee celebrations of the court complex and the lawyers association in Mudigere on Saturday, Mr. Manjunath said it was the duty of every lawyer to protect the interests of his client. Stating that courts were being opened in all taluks in order to decentralise administration and ensure quicker disposal of cases, he said judges and lawyers should improve the image of the legal system by speedy disposal of cases. Ajit J. Gunjal, high court judge, who released a souvenir, called upon young lawyers to improve their knowledge through study and the guidance of seniors and make the legal system available to every citizen. Mohan Shanthanagouder, high court judge, who presided over the function, regretted that the development of the country was being hindered by increase in crime, corruption and communal feelings. Bhimeshwar Joshi, Dharmadarshi of the Sri Annapoorneshwari temple in Horanadu spoke. M.S. Gopal Gowda welcomed. K.M. Prashanth read out a report. Vasanthe Gowda proposed a vote of thanks.
