Ratio abysmal in aided schools

Special Correspondent

Bangalore: If student-teacher ratio in government schools is poor in Raichur, it is far worse in government-aided schools.

As opposed to the mandatory ratio of 40 students per teacher, Raichur has one teacher for as many as 124 students.

In contrast, Madhugiri has a ratio of 1:14.The Education Department recently conducted counselling for teachers to relocate them from areas that have low ratio to those which have higher density of students. The department plans to conduct such counselling for government school teachers too in order to ensure uniformity in student-teacher ratio across the State.
