Major bureaucratic reshuffle in Bihar
PATNA: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has effected a major bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring 31 IPS officers, including 20 Superintendents of Police, and four IAS officers. The transfers came within a fortnight of shifting 65 IAS officers, including 29 district magistrates.
Separate notifications for shifting the IPS and IAS officers were issued by the State home department and personnel and administrative reforms department respectively, late last night, official sources said on Sunday.
According to the notification, principal secretary (Home) Afzal Amanullah would hold additional charge of the Minority and Welfare department.

K. C. Saha was made principal secretary of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes Welfare department with the additional charge of Backward and Extremely Backward Classes Welfare department, the sources said.
Bishwanath Singh would be managing director of the Bihar State Water Board and Jaimangal Singh would take over as additional secretary in the Backward and Extremely Backward Classes Welfare Department, the sources said.
In the reshuffle of the law enforcing machinery in the State, SPs of important districts including Patna, Bhagalpur were transferred, the sources said. - PTI
