Ansari attends valedictory function

JAIPUR: Vice-President Mohammed Hamid Ansari was the chief guest at the valedictory function of the week-long Rajasthan Day celebrations at Janpath here on Sunday. Governor S.K. Singh and Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje also attended the colourful ceremony.

Mr. Ansari, accompanied by his wife Salma Ansari, arrived at Sanganer airport here on Sunday morning by a special Indian Air Force aircraft. Mr. Singh and Ms. Raje received him at the airport.

The Vice-President stayed at the Raj Bhavan guest house, where the State Minorities Commission chairperson Jasbir Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Vardhaman Mahavir Open University, Kota, Naresh Dadhich, and Director, Arabic-Persian Research Centre, Tonk, Mohammed Moid Khan, met him.The Rajasthan Day celebrations-cum-Jaipur Festival started on March 24, marking the completion of 60 years of the State’s creation by the merger of princely states.
