Party flags burnt at Thiruvattar

Nagercoil: Mild tension prevailed at Thiruvattar on Sunday after a group of unidentified persons burnt party flags of the Communist Party of India (Marxists).
According to police sources, the activists of the CPI(M) kept 19 party flags at their office to be transported to the 19th Congress of the CPI(M) being held at Coimbatore.
A party activist, Karthikeyan, who noticed some persons burning the flags, shouted and the miscreants escaped under the cover of darkness. Similarly a few days back some unidentified persons burnt the party flags at Manjakonam near Kulasekaram and Vanniyoorkonam near Kalikkavilai. The police have registered a case.
