This Day That Age
India could not withdraw the Kashmir question from the U.N. Security Council “even if she wants to”, the Defence Minister, Mr. V.K. Krishna Menon said in Ahmedabad on March 29. Mr. Menon added that so far as the Kashmir question was concerned, India had told the world body that it had been invaded, and its territory occupied by the aggressor. “We have made it clear to the members of the Council that as provided for by the Charter of the United Nations, the members of the world organisation should proclaim their support in favour of the victim of aggression and, in this case, the sovereign State of India, and against the invader. We have asked them to remove invasion and then it would be possible for us to discuss other problems in dispute between us through normal channels."
