‘Violation-free day’ from April 1

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: As part of their efforts to create awareness on road safety measures, the Traffic Police have decided to observe the first working day of every month as a ‘violation-free day’. It will begin from April 1.

The Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) V. S. K. Kaumudi, told presspersons on Sunday “this time, we will focus on wrong parking, wrong side driving, encroachments on roads and pavements, and signal jumping and crossing stop line,” he said.

The Additional Commissioner also requested the non-governmental organisations, school managements, corporate houses and other associations to display banners on traffic rules at junctions.

Owners of the business establishments should display boards with directional arrow marks to guide employees, visitors and customers to the parking area. Cab, bus and auto drivers must stop their vehicles on the extreme left side of the road while dropping passengers, he added.

Meanwhile, the Cyberabad police have imposed restrictions on plying of seven-seater autos at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad round-the-clock from Monday. Autos will not be allowed to enter the airport from Kishanguda and Pahadisherif roads.
