Rewarding talent: The youth and child awardees with dignitaries at the function held in Puducherry recently. PUDUCHERRY: Thanks to Yoganjali Natyalayam, Puducherry will soon have a complete list of qualified yoga trainers. “We are compiling a list of qualified and trained yoga teachers in Puducherry. We have already enrolled as many as 43 persons in the registry,” Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani, general secretary of Pondicherry Yoga Association said. Mr. Balayogi said several companies and educational institutions in Puducherry had evinced interest in recruiting qualified yoga trainers. Member of Legislative Assembly S. P Sivakumar launched the Pondicherry Yoga Registry at a function recently to honour the Swami Gitananda Youth and Child Awards 2007. Youth, child awardsMr. Sivakumar also presented the Swami Gitananda Youth Award 2007 to S. Geethakala of St. Joseph Cluny School and a student of the Yoganjali Natyalayam. S. Vidya Shankari of the Little Angles English School and student of the Yoganjali Natyalayam also received the award. Former vice-chancellor of Pondicherry University A. Gnanam released the first copy of Yoga for Health and Healing, Yoga for Weight Loss and A Yogic Approach to Stress, books written by Mr. Balayogi.
