Seminar on Union budget, education

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Under the aegis of the All India Federation of University and College Teachers’ Organisations (AIFUCTO) a seminar on ‘the Union budget and Higher Education’ will be organised at the Press Club here on April 5.

The seminar is being organised by the Kerala constituents of the AIFUCTO, the All Kerala Private College Teachers’ Association and the Association of Kerala Governmetn College Teachers.

According to a press note issued here the seminar aims at exploring the ways in which the budget would impact the higher education sector in the country and to bring forth differing opinions on the issue. Vice-Chairman of the State Planning Board Prabhat Patnaik will present the topic at the seminar. AIFUCTO president Thomas Joseph will also speak on the occasion.

Noted educationists are scheduled to participate in the seminar, the press note added.
