Lifer for three

PUDUKOTTAI: The Fast Track Court here on Monday sentenced three persons to life imprisonment in a case of murder. Yet another accused was awarded a six months sentence.

According to the prosecution, a group of persons attacked Chinnadurai (30) near Ganesh Nagar here with deadly weapons in November 2006 following a property dispute. Chinnadurai succumbed to injuries. The Ganesh Nagar police registered a case against nine persons.

The Fast Track Court Judge, P. Ayyasamy, who found four persons guilty, awarded life sentence to Arangan (25), Senthil (24) and Selvam (27). The Judge also imposed a fine of Rs. 3,000 on each of them. The Judge awarded six months’ rigorous imprisonment to Chidambaram and imposed a fine of Rs.1,000. Five others were acquitted.
