BHUBANESWAR: Veteran stage and cinema actor of 60’s, Bhanumati Devi, who acted in Mrinal Sen’s President’s Award winning Oriya film “Matira Manisha” was honoured by the Orissa Cine Artists’ Association here on Sunday. The award was presented during the association’s annual gathering “Basant Utsav”. It included a cash award of Rs.25, 000 besides the customary citation and a shawl. Acknowledging the honour, the ace actor of yesteryears felt that it was a the most memorable moment of her life to be among the four generations of artists of the film and theatre fraternity. It was a rare treat for the audience to see veteran actors Debu Bose and Uttam Mohanty dancing with budding actor Kajal to the tune of an old Oriya film song. Equally enthralling were the singing, dancing and acting by popular film actors Mihir Das, Hara Patnaik, Asit Pati, Ashrumochan, Priyanka, Sadhana Parija, Hari and others at Utkal Mandap, the open-air auditorium.
