PUDUCHERRY: A two-member team from the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) on Monday visited Puducherry Kamarajar Medical College and Research Institute (PKMC&RI) at Thattanchavady against the backdrop of the controversy raised by a section of the political parties on the estimated cost of the project coming up in the government sector. Shortly after meeting Chief Secretary Rakesh Behari at his office, the team comprising Deputy Secretary Vineeth Mathur and Technical Examiner Shylendra Singh visited the construction site of the PKMC&RI. The members were apprised of the construction activity by the officials of the Puducherry Medical College Society, constituted by the government to run the institute. Official sources said the purpose of the team’s visit was to hold “preliminary interaction on the issues related to the setting up of the government medical college at Thattanchavady.”
