Travelling time to Delhi would be reduced by 40 minutes CHANDIGARH: Haryana PWD(B and R) Minister Ajay Singh Yadav said on Monday that the over bridge being constructed at Panipat would be ready by April 30 next and this would prove a boon as travelling time to Delhi would be reduced by 40 minutes. Also, the over bridges at Ambala and Zirakpur would be ready by the end of this year. Talking to the media after inaugurating the newly- constructed office building of Haryana State Roads and Bridges Development Corporation in Panchkula near here, he said that residents of Panipat city would get a concession of 50 per cent in payment of toll tax on production of residence proof. He disclosed that Rs.2,000 crore would be spent under the Rajiv Gandhi Road and Bridges infrastructure programme in the next two years. This programme was launched by UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi from Dadri in Bhiwani district on October 28 last year. He further disclosed that the National Highway Authority of India would spend Rs.5,000 crore during next three years on various projects in Haryana. Also, the PWD (B and R) Department would spend Rs.2,500 crore for strengthening the infrastructure in the State during 2008-09.
