Shimla: The public sector Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited has paid an interim dividend of Rs. 136 crore to the equity partners the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh for its financial performance during the year 2007-08, a corporation spokesman informed here on Monday. As the Centre has an equity participation of 75 per cent in the corporation, a dividend cheque of Rs.102 crore was presented to the Union Minister of Power, Sushil Kumar Shinde, by the management of SJVN. Presenting the cheque Managing Director H.K. Sharma informed the Power Minister that the Company’s 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Power Station had performed exceedingly well during the current year 2007-08 and achieved an all time high power generation of over 6350 million units so far. The Himachal Pradesh Government has already been paid an interim dividend of Rs. 34 crore on account the holding 25 percent equity in the project. The dividend cheque was presented to the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh by the management last week, said the spokesman.
