BERHAMPUR: The city police unearthed a land patta forgery racket and arrested four persons -- Dipak Panda, Bhaskar Rao, Ranjit Sahu and Muna Sahu. They were produced in court on Monday. All the four are from the city. Forged seals and stamps of board of revenue, tehsil office and other revenue offices were seized from them. Ten forged land pattas prepared by them were also seized. According to Inspector in charge of the town police station of the city, Abhimanyu Nayak, who investigated the case, the arrested persons confessed that they were selling these forged patta for Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 1,500. It was also suspected that some of these forged pattas must have been used as security to procure bail from the court of law.
