POWER DEAL: K. Madan Mohan, Chief Executive (power) of Enzen Global, is flanked by V.K. Sood, MD of WESCO, NESCO and Director of SOUTHCO and C. J. Venugopal, CMD of Gridco, at a function in Bhubaneswar on Monday.

BHUBANESWAR: Bangalore-based Enzen Global Solutions Private Limited, an energy and environment consulting firm, will now be in charge of distribution of power in four subdivisions in Ganjam and Jajpur districts from Tuesday.

Enzen on Monday signed a forward distribution arrangement with three distribution companies of NESCO, SOUTHCO and WESCO, managed by Reliance Energy Limited, in Orissa.

The franchisee operation of NESCO and SOUTHCO will include operation and maintenance of the electricity distribution system in Khalikote and Rambha subdivisions in Ganjam district and Jajpur town and Dharmasala subdivisions in Jajpur district.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Chief Executive(power), Enzen Global, Madan Mohan, said the partnership would be for five years during which the company would not only look at the distribution operation but also at business turnaround.

Consumer-friendly

Enzen would adopt several consumer-friendly measures such as keeping the collection counters open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., establishing 24-hour customer care centre and effective grievance redressal mechanism and the measures were expected to yield desired result, Mr. Mohan said. “Payments by a satisfied consumer will always be prompt and this in turn would augment revenue.”

Increase in revenue would make way for better maintenance of the utilities besides providing better quality services, he said.

Earlier, Energy Minister S.N. Patro, launched the operation.
