Air India flight returns after take-off

Nedumbasseri: A Delhi-bound Air India flight (IC 466) with 113 passengers had to return to the airport here after being airborne for more than half an hour owing to engine failure on Monday.

The flight had left for Delhi at 7.40 a.m. After the flight’s return, the passengers were shifted to a Bangalore-Cochin Air India flight that left for Delhi at 10.30 a.m. The passengers of the Bangalore flight were moved to a Jet airways flight. Air India officials said the aircraft had to return owing to engine failure and to offload fuel. — A Correspondent
