Complaint lodged against Danam Nagender
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD: A Congress party activist, Mohd. Amar Ahmed lodged a complaint with the Banjara Hills police on Monday alleging that Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee president Danam Nagender had threatened him following an argument.
Ahmed, in his complaint, stated that he had gone to Mr. Nagender’s house on Road no. 3 of Banjara Hills to discuss a party issue. Ahmed had alleged that Mr. Nagender ridiculed him pointing out that he had earlier moved closely with his rivals, police said. As an argument ensued, Mr. Nagender’s driver Bhaskar allegedly slapped Ahmed while the Congress leader threatened him of dire consequences.
When contacted, Mr. Nagender denied the charge saying neither he nor his driver was at home when Ahmed came.
The charge was politically motivated, he said. The police, however, did not register any case stating that the contents of the complaint were non-cognizable. The complaint would be referred to the local court concerned. Further action would be initiated based on the court direction.
