Habitual offender arrested

A habitual offender, involved in theft and robbery cases, was taken into custody on Saturday. K. Manikandan alias Karuvamani (24) of Avaniapuram was arrested by a special team formed to investigate a series of thefts and chain-snatching incidents in recent weeks. During interrogation, the suspect confessed to have committed a few crimes. His accomplice, B. Alagammal (27) of Palanganatham, was also arrested and 17.5 sovereigns of stolen gold ornaments were seized from them.
