Bangalore: A gang of four persons assaulted a businessman at his residence and made away with cash, gold jewellery and electronic gadgets all worth over Rs. 60,000 in Choudappa Layout at Doddabyaladakere in Soladevanahalli police limits on Sunday. The police said that the incident occurred when Rajanna was having dinner with his wife, when four people barged into the house and demanded money. When Rajanna refused to budge, the robbers assaulted him and his wife and made away with Rs 20,000 in cash, gold jewellery and electronic gadgets. Soladevanahalli police have registered a case and are investigating. In another case, a call centre employee was assaulted and robbed of Rs. 7,000 in cash and gold jewellery, by a five-member gang while she was entering her house in Lingarajapuram on Sunday. The police said that the incident occurred when Priya Darees returned home after work. Soon after she opened the door, the gang that was closely following her, gained entry to the house and demanded for the locker keys. When she refused, the dacoits assaulted her. They broke open the locker and made away with Rs 7,000 in cash and gold jewellery. The Banasawadi police have registered a case. An employee of Airports Authority of India (AAI) was robbed of her gold jewellery and cash of Rs. 2 lakh allegedly by the son of her cook in Koramangala on Sunday. The police said that Venkatesh (30), son of Bhojraj, who works as a cook with Rajeshwari, an employee of AAI, demanded some money to start his own business. When she refused to give him the money, Venktesh tied his father and Rajeshwari to a chair and allegedly made away with Rs. 2 lakh in cash and 100 gm gold jewellery. The Koramangala police have registered a case. SuicideThe wife of a Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) constable allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling at her residence in KSRP quarters in Madivala on Sunday. The police said B.Y. Shoba (34), wife of KSRP constable Appaji, allegedly committed suicide in an act of atonement after scolding her children. Appaji had gone out for a walk when the incident occurred. The Madivala police have registered a case. Chain snatchedTwo persons snatched a gold chain worth Rs. 40,000 from a woman in front of KEB Power House in Rajajinagar and escaped on a two-wheeler on Sunday night. The police said that the duo snatched the chain from Mangala while she was returning home after attending a marriage in Chennakeshava Kalyana Mantap at 8.45 p.m. The Rajajinagar police have registered a case. One killedBhanuprakash (28), who was riding a two-wheeler, died when a tempo traveller knocked down his vehicle on R.T. Nagar Main Road on Sunday midnight. The police said that Bhanuprakash, a resident of Dinnur Main Road in R.T. Nagar, died while he was being shifted to the hospital. The R.T. Nagar traffic police have registered a case.
