Gujarat handicrafts expo begins

THALASSERY: An exhibition of Gujarat handicrafts and handloom products began here on Tuesday under the auspices of the Kochi-based Gujarat Emporium sponsored by the Gujarat government.
The exhibition, being held at the Sharada Krishna Iyer Auditorium, here would continue till April 15, a press release said adding that handicraft and handprinted products of Gujarat, jewellery items from Rajasthan and handloom products from Orissa, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh would be among the products being showcased at the exhibition.
The exhibition promoted participation of national award-winning craftsmen. Buyers at the exhibition would be given a government rebate of 20 per cent for handloom products and of 10 per cent for handicraft items.
