TTD seminar on Tarigonda Vengamamba

VIJAYAWADA: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will conduct a two-day literary seminar on the works of devotional poetess Tarigonda Vengamamba, at Siddhartha Kalapeetham here on April 12 and 13.

Being conducted by the TTD’s Tarigonda Vengamamba Vangamaya Project, the seminar will feature talks and presentations by literary experts and researchers belonging to various universities and colleges in the region.

TTD Executive Officer K.V. Ramanachari will preside over the inaugural function of the seminar on April 12, while Animal Husbandry Minister Mandali Buddha Prasad will be the chief guest. ‘Sveta’ Tarigonda Vengamamba Vangamaya Project Director Bhuman Subrahmanyam Reddy will deliver the inaugural address.

Project Coordinator Pamidikalva Chenchusubbaiah told reporters on Tuesday that the credit and honour for writing the first Telugu piece on Sri Venkatachala’s significance would go to Vengamamba.
