HYDERABAD: The new airport will commence collection of parking charges for four-wheelers, two-wheelers and other vehicles as announced earlier from 00.01 hours on April 3, 2008, according to a release from the GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL).
The charges on an ad hoc basis are: First 15 minutes will be free for four-wheelers and two-wheelers; four-wheelers – Rs.70 and two-wheelers – Rs.15 for two hours
The GHIAL also decided not to allow general visitors. It would henceforth be open only to passengers and those going there to receive or see off some one.
The airport handled around 1,70,000 passengers consisting of 27,000 international and 1,43,000 domestic passengers in the last nine days. A total of 2,208 air traffic movements (1,104 landings and an equal number of take-offs) were handled.
