dated April 2, 1958: Import policy

Under the import policy for April-September 1958, quotas have been increased mainly for items required for industries namely, textile, chemicals and accessories, component parts of taper roller bearings, spare parts for machinery etc. Quotas have also been increased for some consumer goods like photographic sensitized material and paper items. Among the consumer goods for which quotas have been reduced are fish, fruits and milk food. In the case of some items including studio lamps, and copra the quotas have been withdrawn or drastically reduced but at the same time a provision has been made for the grant of licences to actual users so that the level of supply will not suffer.
