Corrections and clarifications

In “Sounding the alarm bells” (Editorial, April 1, 2008), a sentence in the first paragraph was “… During the week that ended on March 15, the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) inflation surged to 6.56 per cent on a point-to-point basis, the highest in 13 months.” It should have been 6.68 per cent.

In a football report “Carvalho scores as Chelsea pips Middlesbrough” (“Sport”, March 31, 2008), the last paragraph said “Last-place Derby County was guaranteed relegation after a 2-2 draw at home to next-to-last Fulham. In Saturday’s other matches, Birmingham, Portsmouth, Reading, Blackburn and Sunderland posted wins”, while the results column said “The results: … Reading 0 drew with Blackburn 0.” The results column is right. The teams were incorrectly included with the teams which posted wins.
