Giving mixed signals, adding to chaos

For quite a few weeks now the traffic signal at the ever-busy Pulimood Junction has been causing confusion among motorists. For many days the red light facing Statue Junction did not function, resulting in much screeching of tyres and choicest curses by the hot blooded.

Then for some days the ‘arrow’ allowing motorists coming from Statue to turn right down Ambujavilasom Road refused to turn green, leaving many wondering which was the right moment to turn right.

By the time they caught on to the habits of the traffic light, traffic from the opposite side would have started in right earnest.
