THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee has condoled the demise of Kadammanitta Ramakrishnan. He said in a message that he was deeply saddened to learn about the passing away of Kadammanitta Ramakrishnan, one of Kerala’s most prominent poets and great social and political activist, progressive thinker and an intellectual par excellence. He said he had the honour to meet him personally and also dedicate to the nation the unique sculpture park, which was inspired by his own poems. Kadammanitta’s poems reflected his abiding concern for the poor and the vulnerable sections of society. His demise is a great loss not only to the people of Kerala who have a very rich literary and cultural tradition, but also to the world of literature and poetry as a whole. He conveyed his heart-felt condolences to the poet’s family.
