Naidu denies SP-Congress tie-up

HYDERABAD: United National Progressive Alliance convener and Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday made light of reports that Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh might join hands with the Congress in U.P.

Asked about such a possibility, he told reporters here that the Congress was imagining things. Mr. Singh had denied it. He said the measures announced by the Centre to check inflation would not bring down prices, but would fuel a hike.
