CHANDIGARH: The Union Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways has sanctioned Rs.33.64 crore for executing five works, including widening of the National Highway No.71 between Jhajjar and Rewari, Haryana PWD (B and R) Minister Ajay Singh Yadav said here on Wednesday. He disclosed that Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways T.R.Baalu had conveyed this to him in a ‘Demi Official’ letter. While thanking the Union Minister, Mr.Yadav said that this would go a long way in providing better arteries to the commuters using this highway. He further disclosed that the Union Minister had conveyed to him that a stretch between Rewari and Jhajjar, which is part of the Rohtak-Bawal section, had been identified for four lanes under the National Highway Development Project Phase-III. The detailed projects, he said, were under preparation. Rewari bypassHe further said that Mr. Baalu had assured active consideration of the Rewari bypass, overhead rail bridge on Jhajjar-Rewari crossing subject to availability of land and viability of the project.
