PUDUCHERRY: The Puducherry State Lecturers’ Association on Wednesday requested the Union Finance Ministry for a revision in pay. This after the Sixth Pay Commission had recommended Rs. 7,500 - Rs. 12,000 for the lecturers. The association in a release said they recommended a pay scale for lecturers and graduate teachers had a difference of only Rs. 50. They demanded a revision of pay as Rs. 8,000 - Rs. 13,500. At the same time, they said the Education Department had assured the lecturers to bring about promotions but nothing had taken form till date.
