Spectacle: An enactment of Dandi March by artistes as part of the light and sound show ‘Swathanthryam Thanne Jeevitham’ being held in Mahe.

MAHE: A light and sound show titled ‘Swathanthryam Thanne Jeevitham,’ produced by the Song and Drama Division of the Union government under the aegis of the Puducherry government, here is attracting large crowds.

The five-day show, which began on Tuesday, is based on the freedom movement and combines theatre, dance and music.

The performance, which is being held on different stages at the College ground here, holds a unique aesthetic and historical appeal for the spectators.

The show blends the tradition, culture and history of Kerala to form a perfect backdrop to the representation of the Independence movement.

The history of Mahe also forms part of the show, in which local artistes and those from the Song and Drama Division participate.

The Dandi march and the hanging of Bhagat Singh are among the events depicted.
