No increase in property tax rates

NEW DELHI: Mayor Arti Mehra on Wednesday said there will be no increase in rates of property tax for the financial year starting from April 1.

In a statement, Ms. Mehra advised property tax payers to clear their dues for 2008-09 by June 30 as per rates for the year 2007-08 to avail themselves of a 20 per cent rebate.

Leader of the House Subhash Arya said the proposal for increase in rates of property tax was erroneously passed in the House due to an oversight.
