Bhopal: Samajwadi Party on Wednesday suspended its MLA Vijay Bahadur Singh Bundela for violating the party whip during the recent Rajya Sabha polls in Madhya Pradesh. “Out of eight MLAs, seven voted as per the party whip issued in favour of independent candidate, Vivek Tankha. Only Bundela voted for BJP candidate following which SP president Mulayam Singh Yadav has decided to suspend him from the party for joining hands with the communal forces,” SP general secretary Amar Singh told reporters. The State unit’s proposal to expel him from the party will be decided soon, he added. On another SP MLA Kishore Samrite’s charges against Congress leaders offering him a bribe, Singh said since Samrite voted for Tankha, the complaint does not stand at all. -- PTI
