MUMBAI: The Bombay Stock Exchange’s sensitive index failed to hold on to significant early gains, but still managed to end the day on a positive note and ended higher by nearly 124 points.

Heavy selling onslaught by foreign institutional investors in the latter part of the day chopped off the gains, marketmen said.
