KOCHI: House visits by police personnel as envisaged in the community policing initiative Janamaitri Suraksha Paddhathi at the Kadavantra police station started on Wednesday with senior officials visiting the residence of actor Mammotty at Jawahar Nagar. The initiative was inaugurated by Chief Minister and three police stations - Kadavanthra, Palarivattom and Fort Kochi - were selected in the first phase in the city. House visit by police personnel on beat patrol is a major component of the initiative. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ernakulam, P.M. Varghese and Circle Inspector, Ernakulam Town Central, G. Venu and Kadavanthra station house officer N.R. Jayaraj were along with beat officer head constable K.C. Yohannan when he visited the actor at his residence. Mr. Yohannan will be the beat officer for Kumaranasan Nagar, Kudumbi Colony, Rail Nagar, Kunjan Bava Road, Chettichira, Netaji Nagar and Subhash Chandra Bose Road. Head constable Priyominar Varghese (Udaya Colony, Saleem Rajan Road, Karshaka Road and Gandhi Nagar), head constable V.M. Nassar (Tripthi Lane, Market Road, Kavalakkal Temple, Matha Nagar, Kaloor-Kathrukadavu Road and Kumaranasan Square), head constable K.A. Rasheed (Fatima Church Road, Muttathil Lane, Temple Lane, Ambelipadam, Junior Janata Road and Paradise Lane) and police constable P.N. Sukumaran (Vytilla, Kachappilly Lane, Sahakarana Road, Rail Nagar and Lal Salaam Road) are the other beat officers under the station limits.
