JNU students on hunger strike

NEW DELHI: Some students of Jawaharlal Nehru University here have been on a relay hunger strike since this past Sunday over their demands regarding facilities at the School of International Studies (SIS) and the School of Social Sciences (SSS) on the campus.The students of SIS have been demanding enhancement of the computer facility, installing special software for virtually challenged students in the computer centre, and establishment of a proper research bureau. According to JNU Students’ Union convenor of SSS, one of the main demands was registration of a Ph. D. student who had been allegedly denied registration in this semester.
