Film Institute closed

KOLKATA: Labour problems involving, among others, security personnel, forced the closure of the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) for an indefinite period here on Wednesday. Its students have been asked to vacate their hostels

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting that runs the institute set up in 1995 is “fully aware” of the developments. “I also wish the State government will take appropriate action,” film director and SRFTI Chairman Buddhadeb Dasgupta told The Hindu.
