Ahmedabad: South Africa’s captain Graeme Smith said his side was ready to deal with any Indian combination. “We are prepared for everything. Kumble is an experienced campaigner, and has the ability to change the game. If he is not there, then India has a few things to think about. They will have more thinking to do and will have to rework their game plan. We can win in Ahmedabad, if we execute our plans well.” Smith hoped Dale Steyn would get some assistance here. “In Chennai, Dale Steyn had a backache and there was no swing. On his wicket, hopefully there will be reverse swing.” Neil McKenzie’s performance came in for praise from the captain. “South Africa is always looking for young legs, but the experience he has shown counts a lot. He is in great form.” — Sports Reporter
