Release jailed supporters: Tikait

Sisauli (U.P): Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Mahendra Singh Tikait on Thursday sought the release of his supporters jailed after clashes with police. The BKU leader said he was “ashamed” that he was out on bail while they were still in custody.

“What face would I show to my people? I feel ashamed that I have been released but my men are still in jail,” Mr. Tikait, who returned here from Bijnore after getting bail, told reporters at his residence as tears rolled down his eyes. — PTI
