Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on Thursday gave the assurance that full cooperation would be extended by the State Government to set up the National Institute of Design (NID) in the State capital. The Chief Minister gave this commitment when the NID Director, Darlie O Koshy met him on Thursday morning to discuss the modalities for setting up the premier design institute here. The National Institute of Design was set up at Ahmedabad in 1961 as an autonomous national institution for research, service and training in Industrial Design and Visual Communication. The NID R&D campus was later set up in Bangalore. The NID is acclaimed globally as one of the foremost multi-disciplinary institutions in the field of design education and research. The institute functions as an autonomous body under the Government of India’s department of Industrial Policy and Promotion under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
