Fire destroys oil, chemical godown
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD: Fire broke out in a chemical and oil godown at Katedan industrial area destroying property worth lakhs of rupees on Thursday.
Over 15 firemen using four fire-tenders from Chandulal Baradari, Moghalpura, Langer Houz and Gowlipura fire stations battled for one hour to put out the blaze.
Govind (23), one of the workers in the godown, sustained minor burns while trying to put off the flames. He was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital.
Workers noticed smoke emanating from a corner of the godown around 12 noon. Even as they tried to find the source of the fire, flames soon spread to the entire godown having asbestos roof.
