Cable TV Corporation gets Ministerial nod

CHENNAI: The Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry on Wednesday gave its nod for a State-owned Cable TV Corporation to create facilities for cable TV operations in Chennai city, according to a State government release.

Permission from the Ministry is mandatory for running cable TV operations in the metropolitan area.

The government submitted its application on November 23, 2007 and the permission was given on Wednesday.

As far as other parts of the State were concerned, permission had to be obtained from the Postal Department and the government was taking steps. — Special Correspondent
