BHUBANESWAR: As a tribute to late Debaprasad Das, one of the founder fathers of Odissi dance, a three-day dance festival would be mounted at the Jayadev Bhawan here commencing on his 75th birthday on Saturday. It is being hosted by city-based Tridhara Dance School being run by Gajendra Panda, a disciple of the late guru. Eminent theatre personality Dullav Chandra Singh would be honoured with the Debaprasad award on the concluding evening of the event for his contribution to Odissi dance, informed Mr. Panda. The award was instituted last year to honour a pioneering dance personality every year, he explained. The three-day festival will feature senior and budding dancers from Bangalore, New Delhi, Kolkata, US, Japan and from within the State. The artistes include Anita Singhdeo, Jyoti Rout, Vani Madhav, Gayatri Chand, Adya Kaktikar, Debashree Patnaik, Vramari Dutta and Kaori Naka besides the Tridhara troupe members.
