PDS rice seized, one arrested

ATTUR: The police seized 210 bags of rice meant for supply under the Public Distribution System (PDS) and arrested a person for smuggling the rice in Attur on Friday.

Acting on a tip off, the police personnel conducted a vehicle check and intercepted a mini lorry. They found 210 bags of PDS rice in the vehicle and seized the rice. They arrested driver Deenadayalan (45) of Attur. Further investigation was going on, the police said.
